SOCO PRIVATE SECURITY is a boutique security service provider, serving the public and private sector alike.
SOCO PRIVATE SECURITY is a Native American, veteran-owned boutique security service provider, serving the public and private sector alike. In England, where private security began, SOCO stands for “Scene of Crime Officer.” In California, SOCO stands for Sonoma County, where the company maintains its Corporate Offices and Training Facility. SOCO was founded by Santa Rosa resident John Iervolino, who started in security many years ago as a citizen police officer in Hawaii as operations manager and general manager for two of Northern California’s largest security companies.
A worker is only as good as his tools, and it today’s rapidly changing world, those tools need to be technologically sound. In the security sector, being able to stay in contact with your team and report activity immediately is a must. SOCO uses state-of-the-art computing technology and the Verizon 4GLTE Jet Pack to remain connected in the field for live reporting. Our SmartPatrol™ vehicles are equipped with Lytx DriveCam cameras to record activity inside and outside the vehicles, and all our officers wear bodycams as well. Additionally, we incorporate drones to monitor crowds and areas that require an eagle-eye view. Our officers are continually trained not only in crowd management and weapon safety, but also in various ways to incorporate technology and use computing to enhance our work.
Physical Readiness Training (PRT) is a method most often used in the Army to ensure an individual who will see combat is capable of meeting the physical demands necessary to get the job done. It involves training in a number of areas, including strength, mobility, and endurance, as well as how to safely perform in the field to avoid injury. At SOCO, we find using a similar training regimen ensures our officers are always at their physical best and able to handle anything that comes their way. Regardless of the turn of events, it’s essential for us to be physically fit and capable of running, jumping, and restraining individuals. We emphasize continuous training not only in the physical aspect of our work, but the ethical and social aspects, as well. Our team trains to be physically and mentally prepared for dangerous situations when necessary, but we put strong emphasis on avoiding violence whenever possible and train in alternate methods.
